Greetings everyone!

I’m finally giving the world of blogging a serious try (unlike my previously abandoned personal blogs after 1 or 2 posts). For those of you out there that don’t know me, my name is Mike Sukmanowsky and I’m a Web Analytics Specialist working for Rogers Communications in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

I plan to have many of the pages on the site do most of the “introductory talking” for me so instead of repeating their content I’ll just try to repost it here:

  • About Mike - learn all about who I am and why I’m passionate about web analytics
  • Mission Statement - find out why this blog is going to be one of your most valuable resources
  • Must Reads - links and a bit of discussion about excellent web analytics books; the types of literature that got me excited about the industry in the first place!
  • Must Visits - apart from my blog site of course, these are the most important sites out there when it comes to understanding web measurement and getting better at it

  1. One Response to “First post!”

  2. Mike,

Thank you for your response. I must say your blog is one of the best I’ve seen insofar on the subject of site optimization. On web analytics, I agree with you that IT can not make a good analytics. It has to be someone with marketing background, preferablly direct marketing, who is metrics-driven. A step further, today’s analytics requires knowledge in every aspects of web development, including product development, project management, and most importantly user experience. Because today’s analytics not only needs to interprete data movement, but also needs to guide product development, inform marketing and input user experience design.

This is a wonderful blog and I will tell everyone to visit.
